Cutting and scaling of 3D printed bust - Maria Callas
A client approached us to create a customized bust of the legendary opera singer Maria Callas using modern 3D printing. The client had access to a 3D scan of the original sculpture but wanted a version that was both larger and customized to fit into a specific space.
Here's how we worked with 3D modeling and 3D printing to make the bust
We at RPS Sweden received the file and reworked the model to meet the client's needs. The work included, among other things:
- Scaling up the model to the desired size
- Digital cutting to create a flat back that allowed for wall placement
- Reinforcement of details to ensure that Calla's characteristic facial features were clearly visible even in the larger version
Once the model was completed, the bust was produced using high-precision FDM printing technology. The result is a robust and detailed sculpture that honors Maria Callas' artistic legacy using modern 3D technology.
