A client approached us with a unique project - to create a customized bust of the composer Handel using 3D printing. The client had access to a high-resolution 3D scan of the original sculpture, but needed a version that would fit perfectly into a specific space in the home.
How we worked with 3D modeling and 3D printing to make the bust
At RPS Sweden, we received the 3D file and processed the model to meet the customer's wishes. We carried out, among other things:
- Scaling of the model to get the right size
- Digital cutting of the model to create a flat surface, so that the bust could be placed tightly against the wall
Once the model was adapted and ready, the bust was 3D printed using FDM technology in high quality. The result was an impressive and durable sculpture that combined classical art with modern 3D printing technology.
