Cutting and scaling of 3D printed bust - Giuseppe Verdi
A customer approached us with the request to produce a customized bust of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi through modern 3D printing. The customer had access to a 3D scan of the original sculpture, but needed a version that was both larger and customized to fit in a specific space.
How we worked with 3D modeling and 3D printing to make the bust
We at RPS Sweden received the file and reworked the model to meet the client's requirements. The work included, among other things:
- Scaling up the model to achieve the desired dimension
- Digital cutting of the model to create a flat surface on the back and allow placement directly against the wall
- Reinforcement of details to ensure that facial features and textures were clearly visible even at the larger size
Once the model was completed, the bust was produced using high-precision FDM printing technology. The result was a robust and detailed sculpture that combined classical artistic heritage with modern 3D technology.
